ADULT SAILING CLASSES
Course Description – OSYC Adult Sailing Class
Be prepared to GET WET and for some physical exertion. Bring sunscreen, closed toe shoes for wear in the water. You may want a hat, sunglasses, gloves.
You will learn to rig and de-rig the boat. Move the boat to the water, pilot the boat on all points of sail, sail to a point and recover an object (pfd simulating a person), and how to right the boat after a capsize. Righting the
boat requires a degree of upper body strength and balance. If you are unable to right the boat alone, you may be required to sail with a friend who could assist you.
Our instructors are U.S. Sail Instructor Certified and each have four years of experience teaching both children and adults to sail. If you wish to make it a Parent/Child learn-to-sail weekend they will happily accommodate that as
well. In addition to instructional and recreational sailing, our instructors have all competed successfully in the various OSYC catamaran regattas.
